Opis i korišćenje

U aminokiseline razgranatog lanca (BCAA) ubrajaju se leucin, izoleucin i valin.

To su esencijalne amonokiseline i neophodno ih je unositi u organizam putem ishrane, jer imaju značajnu ulogu u izgradnji mišićnog tkiva, odnosno, predstavljaju 1/3 mišićnog tkiva.

Istovremeno one čuvaju rezerve glikogena u mišićima od preteranog razlaganja za vreme fizičkog napora. Aminokiseline razgranatog lanca imaju veoma bitnu ulogu jer sprečavaju kataboličke procese u mišićima tokom napornih i dugotrajnih treninga.

Telo koristi BCAA kao indirektan izvor energije za mišiće pretvarajući ih u glukozu, putem procesa poznatog pod nazivom glikoneogeneza , koji se odigrava u jetri. BCAA, a posebno leucin, stimulišu lučenje insulina, somatomedina-C (IGF-l) i hormona rasta (GH). Time se njihov antikatabolički učinak dopunjava direktnim anaboličkim delovanjem navedenih hormona i činilaca rasta.
